If you're upgrading to a faster, stronger wireless router, don't chuck your older Wi-Fi box. With the magic of DD-WRT, you can turn your older wireless router into a range-expanding Wi-Fi repeater

I'm having one problem with Repeater Bridge using DD-WRT v24 RC-6 (12/30/07) std (SVN revision 8733M Eko)nokaid. I have one PC that connects to the AP router, but can't see any other devices Again: No. The WRT is not a repeater. I does not act as a repeater. You can't use it as repeater. You must run a ethernet cable between the WRT and your main router. You may only be able to do this with 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt or tomato. But then you should better ask in a forum on that firmware. In Netgear-speak, a wireless bridge is different than a wireless repeater (aka range extender). A wireless bridge only supports wired clients. If you were really thinking of wireless repeating, then Netgear has made it clear by their actions (i.e. removing WDS from virtually all of their routers) that they want you to buy a range extender. In addition to ‘client’ and ‘client bridge’ mode bridge means the connection isn’t NAT’d DD-WRT now has ‘repeater’ and ‘repeater bridge’ mode. The router will attach to the access point of your choice and then rebroadcast the signal as the SSID of your choosing. You do this by setting up a virtual wireless interface.

The AirStation should now be connected as a wireless extender. To configure the AirStation's SSID and security settings, click on the Wireless tab and then the 2.4 GHz (or 5 GHz) subtab. (Optional) To use the AirStation as a repeater instead, simply click the Repeater checkbox on the Wireless Bridge page.

If you find the OpenWrt device itself is only accessible from those computers directly connected to the W-LAN AP, not from the ones connected to the OpenWrt W-LAN client, when in the 192.168.1.0 subnet, Make sure the Local IPv4 address setting in the Relay bridge interface matches the ip address of the wireless uplink. I am trying to setup a repeater bridge between a linksys n310 and a Aceex Nr22, both with the same v24-SP2 SVN revision 14896. I was sucessfull in seting up client mode, but for the past two days had no luck with repeater bridge mode.
